Sheep
We have grown this business from the original Family sheep farm to today, We run 3500 su Ewes are Texel Romney based. Our Rams are a mixture of breeds which has enabled us to grow excellent Lambs for Export, whilst also giving us the ability to re establish our Ewe numbers
Beef
Beef is not one of our Main focus, This allows us a little diversity within the farming framework We buy in Bobby Calves, Feed these from days old for months then we Grow them within the farm for 18 months to 2 1/2 years. We sometimes buy 18 month old stock for winter feeding allowing us to move it on in the summer months. but this is all dependant on the movement of Dairy Grazing and need to finish crops etc.
Dairy Grazing
We are in the business of Dairy Grazing, We have done the grazing side for the last 12+ years, We have developed our grazing from 500 to today we graze upto 3000 Dairy cows. We have also developed our feed structure in this time and we have changed our operation of feed severals times and now have a great working model for our operation. We feed Beet, Chow and swedes along with Hay and Baleage. We find that after all this time grazing we are becoming very astitute to the cows and their requirements.
