We like other families who have farms are not just solely stuck here with talents in the farming industry, We are special enough to Branch into sports,
We have 5 amazing Grandchildren of Ashley and Gail on Farm who are extremely talented in sports, They have talents in many areas but as we are within the winter here at Bushbury, I felt I could introduce you to the talented young sports men and women we have.
Connor Roy - Age Nearly 16
Connor is a very keen young man, Loves to work on Farm in the Tractors helping out on Farm and is a really nice young man, He is showing his worth on the rugby paddock as well, Connor played Topp Cup this year (SWU16) being a real force on the rugby scene against Central. He played his first 1st XV Game yesterday and is a mean tackling machine on the field, Connor is becoming a real force on the Rugby paddock and We all enjoy how well he is going with his sports and enjoying his life on Farm. He could be one to watch for the future keep up the good work Connor.
Lachlan Roy - Age 15 Just
Lachlan is another keen young man, Like his big cousin above he has hit a useful age of helping on Farm, Doing tractor work but has a good school balance and sports. He is a competitive swimmer during the summer months, Training extremely hard in summer and keeping his fitness up for the winter of Rugby. This year saw Lachlan introduce Tri athalon into the mix forming a team and swimming with them, they won the South Island Secondary school for this and he enjoyed the new challenge of open water swimming. In Winter he play Rugby for SOHS and is in the U15 team this year and will travel to Queenstown for tournament in September, He enjoys everything rugby and does also enjoy the farm, Sometimes finding a balance in them both is very hard, Lachlan excels in rugby also and has played a couple of games with the colts (U16) and also played Topp cup (SWU16), This season Lachlan has moved to the position of Hooker within his club which was a position he played throughout reps, As the season progress so does his playing.
Kadys Roy - Age 13 (Nearly 14)
Kadys is a sporting young lady, She like to help out on farm but has a lot of sports she does as well, Following in the gene pool of family Kadys is a super young Hockey player, Haven't seen her play but have heard all about her talents on the hockey field, She is super keen in this sport and as I have heard she is exceptionally talented in this sport among many, Kadys also plays Netball for SOHS, She is in an amazing wee team and they play an exceptional style of play, They work extremely well and play a great style in Netball, Kadys is another fine young sporting lady from a great wee family.
Nicholas Roy - Age 12 (Nearly 13)
Nicholas is following the footsteps of his big Brother, He swims during the season in the competitive squad and trains with Sharon on a Tuesday, He is slowly coming into his own within the swimming show casing his strength in the water every year, He is an avid rugby player and can be very good at this when he decides he is going to play, He is a strong young man and works hard some days to produce exceptional play, He is coming into his own on the rugby paddock and as he gets older he is slowly deciding on a position for him to play in, Most coaches see a forward when looking at his size, but with his wheels and style of play he maybe a hard hitting back in the future, Certainly from what We have seen of his play Mid field could be his greatest position. Another hard worker Nic is coming into his own on farm also and is trying to work extremely hard. But do be very wary of Nic has a tendency to break things, Following in Uncle Bob's footsteps lol.
Bridget Roy Age 9 (coming 10)
Bridget is the youngest of the Grandchildren but not to be forgotten or following anyone else footsteps, She will make her own, Bridget like her brothers is a swimmer, She is becoming an accomplished wee swimmer and watch out boys she may just overtake you, Her and Lachlan have a healthy competition to see who wins the most medals and ribbons, Bridget also plays Netball, She is a keen young sportswoman and loves her Netball, She is becoming quite an accomplished young defence but we find she can play anywhere within the court. She is a dream to watch and shows some of her Mother and Aunt in her play, She enjoys her sports and we look forward to watching her grow within her sports and see how far she goes as she gets older.
